Das Französische im Maghreb
German, Tobias Molsberger, 2011Product details
Term paper from 2010 in the field of Romance Studies - French - Linguistics, grade: 3.0, Justus Liebig University Giessen, course: Proseminar "The Francophonie", language: German. Abstract: "The Maghreb is a sacred bird. Its body is Algeria, its right wing is Tunisia, its left wing is Morocco." This Arabic proverb, translated into French from the German - 'The Maghreb is a sacred bird. Its body is Algeria, its right wing is Tunisia, its left wing is Morocco' - succinctly and accurately describes the geographical composition of the Maghreb as well as the grandeur of Maghreb culture, in my opinion. The word 'Maghreb' comes from Arabic "al-maghrib" and translates to 'West' or 'land of the setting sun', which best reflects the geographical location of the Maghreb.
