Dresden, 1730: The young maid Christina dreams of becoming a baker. As often as she can, she sneaks into the bakery of the noble house. However, she is soon presented with an unusual offer: she is to assume the role of a noblewoman. Shortly thereafter, she is introduced to the feudal Saxon society. Suddenly, her life is carefree and full of pleasures. But then she falls in love with the young master baker Adrain and faces a difficult decision.
