Hanns Dieter Hüsch, the lyrical fantasist from the Lower Rhine, is a parodist who exposes the petty bourgeoisie through his grotesque poetry. His texts occasionally approach elements of absurd theater, but not in the sense of Beckett or Ionesco. Hüsch draws the nonsensical for his texts and chansons from the reality of everyday life, which is a treasure trove of theatrical absurdities, especially in the Lower Rhine region.
