The book introduces the fundamentals of sociological theory and research perspectives of the interpretative paradigm. This term refers to approaches that make the abilities and necessities of humans to interpret and engage with the world the starting point of analysis—usually in the form of qualitative social research. Sociology is understood and practiced here as a cultural science, long before the Cultural Studies emerged.
