This book aims to encourage the improvement of the position of child victim witnesses in criminal proceedings, considering the special stress situations and the dangers of secondary victimization. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness of the existing opportunities for the protection of child witnesses. Alongside an overview of child protection offenses, it addresses the testimonial capacity and credibility of witnesses in childhood. Furthermore, it presents the procedural regulations regarding the questioning of young witnesses and their protection, as well as suggestions for further improving their situation. The work is directed at all professional groups within and outside the judiciary who come into contact with child (victim) witnesses.
