It is one of the oldest communication and cultural centers in Germany. It began its work in 1974 and belongs to the first generation of sociocultural centers. The communication center Wuppertal die börse made specific contributions to modernization through various phases (post-68, alternative movement, Neue Deutsche Welle, punk, theater, and dance) - extending into the 21st century. This study examines the first 30 years of this center (1974 - 2004) within a theoretical framework of modernization, allowing for the emergence of cultural and socio-historical changes in recent history.
