Doro May shares the story of her daughter Tina (27), who was born with Down syndrome and autism. "When Tina entered my 'perfect world' 27 years ago, as an inexperienced mother of a special needs child, I would have loved to read about the topics my book now addresses: sexuality and disability, workshops for people with disabilities, life assistance... It would have comforted me to know that life goes on cheerfully, that you meet interesting people, that you don’t have to hide with your special child; but also that you don’t have to pretend that everything is just joy and sunshine - in short: I would have devoured such a book!".
