Product details

Openness begins in the minds and hearts of adults. Open work provides all participants with opportunities for autonomy. Open work creates open structures and flexibility in everyday life. Open work lives in the present, reflects on the past, and serves the future. Gerlinde Lill and the Open Work Network Berlin aim to give substance to the concept of Open Work, as there is currently no convincing description of what an Open Concept entails. We have begun to examine our expectations and experiences through mutual exchange and to develop foundational orientations. In this process, clarity emerged regarding what is essential. If we want to create a space for children where joy of life and world exploration, self-determination and participation, uniqueness and togetherness can be experienced, even within an institution with its constraints, this can only be achieved if we open ourselves up. This collection of basic terms related to Open Work aims to illuminate the visible and invisible aspects of openness and to stimulate discussions and imitation. Keywords include: differentiation, opportunities, mindfulness, changes, areas of action, children under three, culture of conflict, treasure hunts, preparation for school.
