The book "The Pure Life. The Late Years 1975-1990" by Mathias Bertram offers an in-depth analysis of East German photorealism. Under the motto of Arno Fischer, a significant representative of East German photography, this work presents 350 carefully selected photographs by 60 renowned photographers. These images depict everyday life in the GDR, far removed from official propaganda, and convey both the challenges and the joys of life during that time.
