Legal violations in companies can have devastating consequences, such as significant financial damage, loss of reputation, and even personal liability for board members and executives. Through compliance measures, employers can attempt to prevent these legal violations at an early stage. However, a certain level of employee monitoring is always necessary, which is also subject to a number of regulations. Violating the relevant regulations can have equally serious consequences. The boundaries that employee data protection imposes on compliance measures are not always entirely clear under the current legal framework.
