Repair or healing? In the reorganization of pharmaceutical law, the legislator in 1976 acknowledged the fact that in Germany, at least since the 18th century, there have been several medical schools with differing views on human health and illness, each developing various theoretical approaches, scientific methods, and their own therapeutic concepts. From the acceptance of this plurality of medical-scientific doctrines, anthroposophical medicine, homeopathy, and phytotherapy were incorporated under the term "special therapeutic directions" into the Medicines Act at that time and into the Social Code Book V in 1989.
