When one hears about restitution, exciting cases immediately come to mind. In reality, it involves unimaginable masses of confiscated goods. Many people who have nothing to do with law are unaware that there was already an attempt to find an international solution in 1998: the Washington Agreement on Holocaust Assets. In my work, I aim to compare the handling of this agreement in the German-speaking world.
