Product details
This book analyzes the impact of the World Wide Web, enhanced by new technologies, in terms of accessibility aspects. Accessible internet refers to web offerings that can be used without restrictions by all users, regardless of their physical or technical capabilities. With regard to Web 2.0, it is important to determine what barriers these offerings create for people with disabilities. Consequently, these barriers are identified, and initial solutions are outlined so that affected individuals can use these new applications just as seamlessly as other accessible websites. The focus of the study is the web application of XING AG. The basis for the accessibility analysis is provided by the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV). The guidelines contained within it are translated into a criteria catalog.
