Product details
An important application area of Ubiquitous Computing is Wearable Computing: Miniaturized electronic devices in clothing, glasses, or jewelry can enhance user safety and facilitate their work. However, ubiquitous data processing not only enables new forms of interest enforcement or data misuse but fundamentally changes the interaction between humans and information technology. As part of a legal opinion for the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the authors examine, using the example of Wearable Computing in protective suits for firefighting personnel, whether the existing data protection law is sufficiently effective when appropriately specified in relation to risks, even in the context of Ubiquitous Computing.
