The processes of developing and establishing new control structures and instruments in the field of education have significantly intensified. Additionally, there is a noticeable trend towards the economization of educational processes, which is reflected in the evaluation of the quality of educational offerings from an efficiency perspective. This has led to a need for the conceptualization of educational management. This means linking teaching and study content from (classical) educational science or educational research with those from (classical) business administration. This specific linking or transfer performance has not yet been achieved in a compendium for study and teaching. The textbook responds to this need and conveys, in three main parts, first the theoretical foundations and basic concepts across disciplines. Building on this, management functions are addressed.
