This study examines the consistent application of modern thinking to Protestant theology. It discusses theological concepts that not only reflect modern themes on a theological level but also translate them directly into a programmatic framework. The defining characteristic of these positions is the central importance of ethics, which assumes a foundational role for theology. The targeted design of a theology based on the fundamental premises of modernity expresses a fundamentally enlightened consciousness and a willingness to shape.
