The Handbook of German Grammar by Elke Hentschel and Harald Weydt is aimed at anyone dealing with German grammar, both in university and school contexts. While German is the focus, comparisons with other languages are also drawn. In the completely revised fourth edition, the proven concept has been maintained: a scientific, modern, and easily readable grammar that can serve as a foundation for teaching and learning, as a reference work for questions of doubt, and as a guide to understanding modern grammatical approaches. It works with established terms of traditional grammar while also clearly explaining terms from current grammatical models and recent approaches in linguistic research. The revision took into account experiences from practical work with the book.
