Images as bridges of trust
German, 2017Product details
The desire to understand the dying in their symbolic language has long been one of the fundamental concerns of Spiritual Care. In the professional and practical literature, there are many examples of the imagery used by the dying and some suggestions on how to respond to it communicatively. The present volume, which was created as part of a research project at the University of Zurich, offers an interdisciplinary overview of experiences and insights from various fields of practice. These include the professional support of the dying by relatives and close ones, as well as by professionals from the fields of pastoral care, nursing, psychotherapy, and psychiatry. The contributions summarize the current state of research and illuminate different forms of symbolic communication, as well as the possibilities for spiritual accompaniment at the end of life.
