The new critical edition of the Chronographia by Michael Psellos contains several hundred new corrections of the highly corrupt text through emendations, alongside smaller improvements obtained from a new collation of the unique codex (2nd half of the 12th century) and the fragment in a 14th-century codex, as well as through the consistent consideration of the secondary tradition; many earlier conjectures are rejected. The entire critical engagement with the text since the editio princeps of 1874 is documented in the critical apparatus and elaborated in a textual commentary. Punctuation and chapter divisions are, unlike in previous editions, traced back to the presumed practice of the author.
