The modern network society is characterized by diverse forms of networking: companies pool their resources in corporate networks. In political networks, interest groups as well as affected parties participate in political regulation. In regional networks, actors take advantage of spatial proximity. On the other hand, the Internet facilitates communication on a global scale in virtual networks. The work presents methods and theoretical perspectives that contribute to the understanding of these different variants of the phenomenon "network." Additionally, it provides insights into a range of practical fields of the network society.
