The work presents the applications of MATLAB and Simulink in control engineering for the analysis and simulation of dynamic systems. It begins with definitions and remarks on the history of automation. This is followed by an introduction to MATLAB and Simulink. The fundamentals of modeling dynamic systems and mathematical process models of selected technical systems using the Lagrangian equations of motion (nonlinear systems and their linearization) are then covered. Control engineering methods for linear systems in the time and frequency domain, test signals, model transformations, and the coupling of systems described by transfer functions and state equations conclude the book. A variety of examples for computer-based simulation of dynamic systems using MATLAB are included.
