Wolf Graf von Baudissin, born on May 8, 1907, is considered the founder of "Inner Leadership" and its guiding principle of the citizen in uniform. This concept unites the soldier and the citizen living in a free order in one person. The biographical essay about the lieutenant general of the Bundeswehr, later a professor and head of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Research in Hamburg, opens up perspectives on the research fields of military history of the Bundeswehr in the alliance in general and Inner Leadership in particular.
