Product details
The Case of Maurizius, published in 1928, is still the most popular novel by Jakob Wassermann (1873-1934). In it, the author depicts how the 16-year-old Etzel Andergast uncovers a serious judicial error from decades ago, competing against his father, a public prosecutor. Andergast is also one of the main characters in Wassermann's novel Etzel Andergast (1931); together with The Case of Maurizius and the novel Joseph Kerkhoven, which was published after Wassermann's death, it forms a trilogy about the bourgeois life before and after World War I.
