Ebenezer Scrooge is the equally miserly and hard-hearted owner of the trading house Scrooge and Marley. Even at Christmas, he refuses to donate anything to the poor. However, this will come back to haunt him: when he returns home alone on Christmas Eve, he is confronted by eerie spirits, including the ghost of his deceased partner Marley. They urgently warn Scrooge against wasting his life solely on hoarding money and paint a grim future for him. Yet, Scrooge is still unwilling to change his ways.
