Product details
Plato's dialogue "Phaedo" was written between 380 and 390 BC and is considered an important source for the philosophy of Socrates, of whom Plato was a student. However, the title of the dialogue itself refers to the Greek philosopher Phaedo of Elis, who narrates the framework story of the trial and execution of Socrates for impiety and corrupting the youth. The central focus of the dialogue is primarily on the exemplary calmness with which Socrates accepted the harsh verdict and continued to discuss with his students questions of the unity of life and action, as well as the possibility of existence after death.
