Product details
Thomas More was Lord Chancellor under the English King Henry VIII and was executed in 1535 after a falling out with the monarch. His most famous work, "Utopia," which gave its name to the literary genre of societal visions of the future, was inspired by Plato's account of Atlantis. Located on an island, Utopia is a republican ideal state where the equality of all citizens prevails, private property is abolished, money and gold are frowned upon, and no one is forced into military service.
