The 32 social movements, alternative economic currents, and initiatives gathered here are seeking alternatives to the prevailing economic model. They call for a paradigm shift: away from a focus on competition, profit-seeking, exploitation, and growth - towards more cooperation, solidarity, and an orientation towards concrete needs. The goal is to create the conditions for a good life for all. But what different paths exist for a socio-ecological transformation? What hurdles need to be overcome? Which groups are involved, who does what, and how do they relate to each other? What alliances are possible? These questions have been explored by protagonists of the movements in a two-year networking and writing process. The contributions that emerged from this motivate individual action and engagement.
