Japan during the Taisho era. Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, travels north to an area where a group of hunters has met a tragic fate. There, he and Shinobu, the Insect Hashira, encounter the daughter of one of the slain hunters. The girl firmly believes that her father fell victim to a bear. However, the truth is far more brutal.

The young Demon Slayer Kyojuro Rengoku receives a new mission. He hopes that by fulfilling this task, he can prove himself worthy of the title of Flame Hashira – a title that his father abandoned long ago. However, Kyojuro's opponent is one of the Twelve Kizuki, and this demon has a score to settle with Kyojuro's father.
