In the current play by young author Amanda Lasker-Berlin, the focus is on images of violence and the violence of images. A woman articulates the video clips she sees: how a young Black man is chased, pinned down, and killed by white police officers, or how a person is set on fire during an escalating demonstration. Another describes watching a childhood video shot with her father at Christmas, where she sees a girl in white tights exposed to the gazes of adult men. One recalls her childhood in Gladbeck, in the neighborhood contaminated by the indelible images of the Gladbeck hostage drama. Another tries to tell the story of her friend and questions whether she is allowed to use images and memories that are not her own. Amanda Lasker-Berlin sharply combines four perspectives of young women, digital natives of the YouTube generation, and children of the video camera generation, with which the unleashing of images began.
