In order to counter the shortage of nursing staff expected as a result of demographic change, the focus is shifting to maintaining the earning capacity of nursing staff. Based on this, this book uses data from the German Pension Insurance Fund to examine which factors lead to medical rehabilitation or a reduced earning capacity pension in nursing occupations. Based on the results, the need for prevention and health promotion among nursing staff is underlined. However, in order to enable and efficiently design such offers, screening instruments have been lacking so far. Therefore, the validation of the Nurse-Work Instability Scale was undertaken. The results show that the scale is suitable to identify nurses at risk with a need for prevention and health promotion and thus the scale could have a high value in the early deployment of geei.
