Chronic pelvic pain is a condition that, although widespread, is rarely recognized as a distinct entity. Many specialties claim the right to treat this clinical picture—or rather, the aspect that fits within their field. However, this pain syndrome is a multifactorial condition with a diverse and sometimes complex set of causes. Only through interdisciplinary diagnostics and therapy can effective help be provided to the affected patients.
