Initially, it was only the so-called dot-com companies that enjoyed the advantages of e-business. However, it has now spread across all industries of all sizes. Recent history has shown that many companies that incorporated e-business into their operations have achieved significant successes. The use of new e-business technologies opens up a range of strategic potentials that can positively impact the long-term returns of companies. While the strategic potentials of e-business have generated a lot of excitement, its implications for corporate governance and controlling have remained less explored.
