Product details
The effects of the Vietnam War are still felt in the Southeast Asian country today. The use of Agent Orange and other herbicides during the Vietnam War in the 1960s caused significant damage to the country. The American military was the first to use herbicides on a large scale for wartime purposes in this conflict. However, the consequences of chemical use for Vietnam were not yet foreseeable in the 1960s. This book particularly addresses the question of how the use of herbicides has impacted the environment and the population of the country. Furthermore, it discusses how people have coped with the resulting consequences. The military primarily used the herbicide Agent Orange, which was heavily contaminated with dioxin, in Vietnam. Large areas of tropical rainforest were treated with Agent Orange during the Vietnam War in the 1960s.
