Product details

W. R. Foerster was one of Japan's leading industrialists. In his factory, the Nichidoku Kikai Seisakujo, he employed a significant number of Jewish refugees from Germany and the occupied territories during the time of National Socialism. With the help of the Jewish Refugee Committee, Foerster took care of all necessary immigration formalities and covered the travel expenses incurred. Due to his resistance, he was arrested in May 1943 at the instigation of German authorities, under the pretext of espionage in favor of the Soviet Union, and was tortured. Using available documents, his life is reconstructed for the first time. The author succeeds in breaking through the web of lies and disinformation from former German Nazi officials that Willi Foerster faced until his death in 1966.
