The Fall of Gondolin - one of the three great stories of the First Age of Middle-earth. Two of the greatest powers of Middle-earth confront each other in The Fall of Gondolin: on one side Morgoth, the embodiment of evil, and on the other Ulmo, the Lord of the Seas, Lakes, and Rivers under the sky. At the center of their conflict lies the hidden Elven city of Gondolin. Turgon, the King of Gondolin, is hated by Morgoth more than anything else. For a long time, the dark lord has been trying to find and destroy Gondolin, but to no avail. Into this world comes Tuor, who becomes the instrument of Ulmo's plan. Guided by him, Tuor embarks on the perilous journey to Gondolin and reaches the hidden city. There he marries Idril, Turgon's daughter; their son is Earendil, who is destined to become the most famous mariner of the First Age.
