The book contains the most important documents regarding the Catholic faith from the times of the Apostolic Creed to the present day. It does not aim to accompany the truths of faith through the two millennia of church history or to present all dogmatic struggles and decisions, but rather to provide those church teaching documents in German that have become particularly significant for the ecclesiastical formation of divine revelation. Systematic chapter introductions and historical notes place the documents in their historical context, as is necessary for a dogmatic understanding. They give the work the completeness and coherence that one expects from a good handbook.
