The monograph provides an overview of various spatial concepts in modern literary research. It presents places and non-places, historical and contemporary regions, mental spaces of culture and education, nature and landscapes that engage with the phenomena of exile and homeland experiences, border and threshold spaces, globalization, migration, and gender. Modern spatial research also allows for the exploration of both identity constructions and the relationships between the literary subject and the intended spatial construction. The volume is divided into three parts, in which different spaces from the Baroque period to postmodernism are perceived by the literary individual in their geographical, political, social, cultural, and virtual variations.
