This is the story of a displaced family. Manfred Schweb's memory begins in 1953 when he is six years old. The effects of the economic depression are still present, and the living environment is blackened by coal dust. The Marshall Plan leaves clear marks on people's lives; everything is in upheaval, everything is changing. Manfred grows up as the youngest of four children without many rules and has to essentially raise himself. The new and unknown awaits around every corner. Everything is explored and experienced. Although he comes from humble beginnings, he manages to carve out his own path. He quickly develops his own philosophy of doing business. Phrases like "If I had, I could, I would" simply do not count here! A childhood that is hard to imagine today, a forbidden relationship, an unusual friendship.
