Sönke Karbacher is the inventor and host of one of the most popular game shows on German television. When his director fires him and hands his show over to her lover, his world collapses. He turns to alcohol and ruins his marriage. After undergoing rehabilitation, he starts an association of disgraced hosts who want to take revenge on their successors, but Sönke's own successor remains untouched.
