Church development processes are always possible when those responsible engage in a spiritual, theological, and practical conversion of their "ecclesial consciousness." This has been the experience of the editors of this volume during their pastoral explorations in many places around the world. From this, the course for local church development presented here has emerged, which has been tested in many parishes. After a fundamental justification for local church development and an introduction to the methodology, the actual course follows, rounded off and concluded by an extensive materials section. This provides each congregation with a guide that outlines a coherent and consistent path toward the development of the local community, beyond their own experiences that need to be made.
