Product details
Since a paradigm shift in Greece around 400 BC, the human being has been understood as a product of the composition of body and soul. In this context, the body, which can be felt without the aid of sight and touch, has been forgotten, alongside feelings of fear, anxiety, pain, hunger, thirst, lust, delight, fatigue, and emotional engagement. What was forgotten at that time is brought to light here and examined with new concepts. This concerns the nature of the body's extension and dynamics. The bodily dynamics expand into bodily communication, the fundamental form of perception and social interaction. Subsequently, the significance of the body is discussed in many contexts: as the foundation of personhood, as a resonating place for emotions, and as a shaping force in art and history.
