Memed tries to find peace and happiness, moving down from the mountains where he has lived outside the law. By the Mediterranean, he wants to start a new life in a village surrounded by orange and lemon groves. The old Hürü and Seyran, who is expecting a child, join him. Unrecognized, he lives a quiet life in this supposed paradise, while legends about Memed flourish around him and tales of his own heroic deeds are recounted. But the mysterious stranger whom Memed keeps encountering— is he a friend or an enemy? Or is he simply the Memed of old, who dreamed of nothing but justice? When his friend, the teacher, who was the only one to stand against the wealthy landowners, is killed, the relentless anger that once made Memed a rebel and avenger rises again within him.
