On a tiny island in the Mediterranean, where the cliffs drop steeply and ships can only dock in calm seas, a solitary lighthouse rises. Like a Cyclops, it scans the night horizon with its eye, a fixed and indispensable point of orientation for generations of sailors. For three long weeks, Rumiz, the restless wanderer, spends his time there, searching like the beam of light that pierces the sky at night and the horizon by day. He learns to recognize the signs of an approaching storm, to listen to the wind, to fly with the seagulls, and to converse with the donkey.
