Szirba, an expatriate Viennese in Stuttgart, originally just wanted to pursue his innocent obsession, but he made the wrong calculations. Stuttgart turns out to be far more dangerous than he anticipated: Szirba is shot and taken to the hospital as a lightly injured witness to a crime.
