In a bar in Venice, two friends reminisce about their studies and a student who was called "the Master" due to his meticulousness. To supplement his income, he wrote articles for a music encyclopedia and invented several composers, including Thremo Tofandor. However, when a female student began to research this composer, the Master found himself in trouble. To avoid being exposed, he kept inventing new details, even composing works attributed to him, which ultimately led to his downfall.
