The B&B team of the Bern police, Beta Bianca and Benno Bertschi, are connected not only by their profession but also by their love for music, a passion for good food, and the talent to extract humor from life. After a night out at a bar with her boyfriend, a woman reports to the police that her five-year-old son is missing. She suspects her ex-husband of having kidnapped him because he cannot accept that she wants to emigrate to Sardinia with her boyfriend and child. Despite an intensive search, the boy is not found. The B&B team faces several questions: Did Jan run away? Was he in an accident? Has he fallen into the hands of a child molester? Or was he murdered? The woman's boyfriend certainly has a motive. So does the ex-husband, and even more so the pedophile neighbor. And what role does the mentally ill woman play? Each of them could have harmed Jan. But there is a lack of conclusive evidence. Then the situation changes.
