A miraculous phenomenon in the history of the German spirit, Schelling praised the Görlitz shoemaker Jakob Böhme and his mystical-theosophical writings. Philosophers such as Leibniz and Hegel, Feuerbach and Ernst Bloch have studied him as intensively as spiritually seeking individuals of all kinds. A new inquiry has begun into how Böhme examines God, nature, and humanity in a comprehensive view and what the inner path he describes looks like. The Böhme interpreter Gerhard Wehr has selected exemplary texts from the natural philosopher and knowledgeable spiritual guide. These texts come from the famous Aurora or Dawn Rising, as well as from Böhme's dialogues and letters.
