Seventeen-year-old Jonas lives with his older brother Alexander and his girlfriend Lisa in a poor neighborhood of a big city. Their biggest dream is to leave their miserable life behind and start anew in a better place. They suffer the most from their alcoholic mother and from Mike, a petty criminal known as a homophobe and the leader of a youth gang. By chance, Jonas discovers Mike's homosexual tendencies and begins an affair with him, quickly developing strong feelings for the despised young man. Although Mike invites him to romantic encounters at every opportunity, he remains closed off towards Jonas: he insists that he is not gay, refuses to kiss him, and shows no emotion. Despite his brother's warnings, Jonas becomes increasingly consumed by his feelings.
