Product details

Egon Erwin Kisch (1885 - 1948) is regarded in Germany not only as the most important representative of social reporting but also as its founder. However, his most famous work, "The Raging Reporter," can hardly be described as socially critical. With this volume, Kisch catered to a bourgeois audience that he primarily wanted to entertain. While there were elements of critique present, they remained vague and arbitrary in their intended impact. It was only with his later works that the native Prager managed to put the form of reporting in the service of effective criticism. The further development of his reporting and the various phases Kisch went through as an author are the subject of this book. The thesis is put forward that Kisch's work as a book author underwent a significant transformation. Therefore, an attempt is made.
