Angela Link has spent her entire life searching for the magic of life. Her journey, which began with Reiki, is propelled by a mysterious voice and a vision in Brittany. There, she encounters druids and a being she interprets as a fairy. Through this being, she learns that she will soon receive a teacher. During her first Reiki initiation, she receives her first rune. The second follows in Brittany. A year later, she meets a mysterious woman named Katharina in the Lüneburg Heath, with whom she is said to have arranged this meeting at some point in the past. However, she cannot remember it. Katharina introduces her to shamanic techniques and teaches her the way of the Medicine Wheel, or as she calls it, the Wheel of Life. Time and again, she must balance her family obligations with her journey.
